A W5 Workshop for P.5.
28th Nov 2016
On Monday 21st November 2016, P5 had a scientist from W5 come to talk to us about why the Titanic sank.
We heard a lot about how materials have different "mass" even though they are the same size.
We heard about how Archimedes came up with a theory about measuring the mass of objects when he was having a bath!
The children took part in floating and sinking experiments. The most surprising experiment was when we saw a can of coke sink, but yet a can of diet coke did not.
We saw a hovercraft float around the hall and children had to take part in a race to build a Titanic jigsaw.
This was a really informative, fun workshop which taught us a lot about this famous ship.
