Exploding volcanoes experiment.
14th Jun 2018
The P5's have been doing the topic, "Change," in World Around Us.
As part of this we have been learning all about volcanoes.
We went outside to conduct an experiment today.
We had six volcanoes.
- We put 6 plastic cups into paint pots.
- We filled them three quarters full with water.
- We added 3 to 4 tbsps. of baking soda.
- We put in a squirt of fairy liquid.
- We added some paint.
- Each cup was stirred.
- Then when we added some vinegar to each, there was an eruption!
This was a super experiment and watching the chemicals react to look like a volcano erupting, was great fun. Maybe some children would like to ask their parents if they could try this at home.
Thank you Sara for taking these photos using our ipad, well done.
