In line with this year’s National Anti-Bullying Week, the children at Whitehouse Primary School took part in a series of assemblies with a school focus of ‘Friendship Week’. At the end of the week, the children were asked to complete a short survey to reveal any changes in their understanding of bullying that had occurred during a successful week. Below are the results of the survey for Key Stage 2:
- In Year 7, 94% of children believed that Friendship Week had helped them understand bullying better whilst 95% of children said if they felt they were being bullied they would know how to get het help (the remaining 5% selected ‘Not Sure’, no children selected ‘No’).

“I already knew about cyber and racial but I didn’t know about social, physical and emotional bullying. If you are being bullied you must never stay silent. Break the silence.” – Year 6 Girl
“You are never alone if bullying is happening.” – Year 6 Boy
“I learned that if you are being bullied to smash the silence.” – Year 6 Boy
“I learned that silence is a weapon for bullying.” – Year 5 Girl
“I learned that you are not responsible when you are getting bullied.” – Year 5 Girl
