Getting Ready to Learn Programme
We are delighted to be working in partnership with Rathcoole Nursery Unit and Newtownabbey Methodist Mission Pre School Playgroup this year. We have been successful in our grant application to support the Getting Ready to Learn Programme.
This aims to improve outcomes for children and young people across Northern Ireland through embedding early intervention.
Through this project we are hoping to encourage and develop parental involvement in children's early learning .It is focussed on improving outcomes for children in pre school by engaging and empowering parents to help them create and sustain positive home learning environments.

At the launch on 10th November we focussed on the importance of reading with our Big Bedtime Read.
Big Bedtime Read
On 10th November parents/ carers and children from all three settings met together to launch our project. Whilst the adults discussed sharing books and bedtime routines the children had great fun with Mr Hullabaloo. The feedback staff received was that everyone found the session very informative and great fun. We are all looking forward to the next sessions.
