Last week year 5 had a special homework. The children were to prepare a 2 minute talk on something they enjoyed taking part in outside school. Some ideas were Brownies, Scouts, swimming, horse riding, a musical instrument or any other hobby they could think of. They had to write a talk and then practice speaking out loud so that they could come into school and present their ideas to the class. Some people found this difficult because they don't like speaking in front of a large group but the teachers were so proud of everyone because they did it anyway! Many children brought in props like football kits, medals, instruments or photographs. We all really enjoyed hearing about the different activities the year 5 children are involved with.
