Year 5 have all begun their All Stars booklets. We began by discussing our personalities and what makes us special. The children then drew a "personality portrait" of themselves and stuck it into the start of the booklets. Next was a lesson all about the 6 character words. These are:
Helpful, respectful, caring, honest, forgiving and responsible.
We discussed what these all mean and then did cartoon drawings to represent each. Everyone had to include a speech balloon in their drawings, which was fun.
We also talked about "getting along behaviours," and came up with ideas of how we can behave in order to promote our All Stars words. We played the thumbs up, thumbs down game, which was exciting.
We all agreed that this programme, supplied by Barnardo's, has begun well and we are looking forward to lots more learning and fun.
