Right of the Month - April
Our right of the month for April is Article 29,
"Education must develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full. It must encourage the child’s respect for human rights, as well as respect for their parents, their own and other cultures, and the environment."
As duty bearers, parents/carers and school staff are responsible for ensuring children receive this right.
22nd April marks 'Earth Day', therefore this month we are focusing, in particular, on encouraging our children's respect for the environment.
The Eco Warriors have done a fantastic job encouraging respect for the environment within our school. We hope that you will also encourage your children to look after the environment at home. They can do this by ensuring they do not drop litter, recycling where possible, reducing their use of single-use plastic and reusing or repairing items rather than replacing them.
You can find out more about this year's Earth Day campaign at earthday.org.
