Safer Internet Day 2017
This year's Safer Internet Day (SID) took place on Tuesday, 7 February 2017. The theme this year was "Be the change: Unite for a better internet". Each class completed activities to help raise awareness of safe and responsible use of the internet. Pupils were encouraged to be kind and respectful online and were reminded about the need to protect their digital reputations.
Last year some pupils had suggested that they thought it would be a good idea if 'Super Heroes' delivered e-safety messages to the pupils. So this year pupils from Year 7 dressed up as Batman, Wonder Woman, Mario, Pikachou, Minnie Mouse, a Minion, Harry Potter and Chewbacca. They visited all classrooms and reminded the pupils of the SMART rules and gave them tips on how to stay safe on the internet .
The pupils from the e-safety team also gave a very good presentation at the Key Stage 2 assembly and at the Foundation Stage Key stage 1 assembly.
