The Celebration of Billy Fraser
This week we heard the sad news that a very good friend of Whitehouse P.S, Mr. Billy Fraser, has died. Billy was our school patrol man for 15+ years and during that time he earned the respect of everyone becoming a much loved member of our school family.
Billy was a real gentleman and we can look back at many happy memories of times spent with him. His warm smile, the genuine interest he showed in our pupils and their families and the care he took to keep our children safe at both the start and end of each school day are just some of the reasons why Billy Fraser will always hold a special place in the hearts of those of us who were fortunate enough to have known him.
We want to send our sincere sympathy at this time to Billy’s wife May and his family circle. This photograph of Billy in 2003 when he went to London to be awarded the title ‘Winner of the UK School Patrol Man of the Year Competition’ reminds us of an individual we were so very proud of, someone who had a real sense of fun but who carried out his job responsibly whilst enriching the lives of boys and girls, their parents and teachers.
