Year 7 Heart Start by Dylan Kernaghan & Tyler Topping
Heart Start is learning about first aid, saving lives and helping people. The D.R.S.A.B.C means
D- Check for danger
R-Check for response
S-Shout for help
A-Clear the airway
B- Check for normal breathing
C- call 999 or 112 / C.P.R
It was fun to learn about saving lives and how to help people when there is a problem. We have learnt to give C.P.R and how to help others when they are choking. To give C.P.R you do 30 compressions and 2 effective rescue breaths. You can tell if you have given an affective rescue breath because the casualty’s stomach will rise. We watched videos made by the British Heart Foundation to help us understand what to do. We also used rescue Little Anne dummies to give C.P.R and rescue breaths.
