Last week Year 7 took part in an online Izak 9 maths challenge with over 200 other school across NI and ROI. Izak9 provides a shared learning experiences that provides opportunities to develop problem solving, reasoning and fluency, where pupils can develop team work and resilience skills. Pupils work together in small groups, to complete set maths tasks.Pupil comments ‘I really enjoyed this activity it taught us problem solving and it was challenging at times.’‘This was a great challenge and we learnt about problem solving and working together as a team.’‘The hardest challenge was putting the blocks together with the shapes facing outwards to put back into the box.’‘I think Izak 9 is really cool as all the answers were in the cube.’We hope to run more Izak 9 events throughout the year.
